Clear documents across languages

Business decisions depend on the details. We translate the obligations, explanations and supporting information in your documents while keeping names, numbers and terminology consistent. Tell us who will read the document and how it will be used so we can choose the right register.

Support shaped around your content

01

Business and legal documents

Contracts, policies and correspondence, with careful attention to defined terms and cross-references.

02

Reports and presentations

Financial, operational and organizational material with consistent headings, tables and terminology.

03

Forms and supporting material

Applications, questionnaires and information sheets that readers can follow and complete.

Preserving the details that make a document usable

Defined terms and recurring references

A contract, policy or report may repeat the same concept across headings, tables and appendices. We track defined terms and recurring wording together, and flag inconsistencies in the source. A term should not acquire a different meaning simply because it appears in another section.

Names, figures and document structure

Names, dates, amounts, reference numbers and numbered clauses need deliberate attention. We review these alongside the translated text. Tell us which names must remain unchanged and whether tables, footnotes, headers and appendices form part of the delivery.

Editable files and final presentation

We preserve the original document formatting by default. If you require a different format or layout, we agree those changes before work begins. An editable source helps us retain the presentation; for scans, identify handwriting, stamps and passages that are difficult to read so we can clarify them before translation.

Preparing your project

A clear brief makes better work possible

Send the complete document, preferably in an editable format, along with previous translations or a glossary. Flag official submission requirements before work begins. We confirm the scope, formatting needs and delivery format in the quote.

What to send

  • The complete source, including relevant annexes and tables.
  • The intended reader, purpose and any receiving-body requirements.
  • Approved names, terminology and a preferred output format.

Example brief

What your project could look like

For an employee policy pack, the brief can include the main policy, acknowledgement form and appendix. The same defined terms are used throughout, while headings and form instructions remain easy to follow.

What you receive

  • The translated document in the agreed editable or final format.
  • Clarification notes for unresolved source ambiguities, where needed.

Scope boundaries

Certification, legal advice and acceptance by a receiving authority are separate from professional document translation.

Your questions, answered

Do you provide certified translations?

Idiomly does not currently offer certified translations. If a receiving authority requires certification, confirm its requirements before requesting a quote.

Can you work from a PDF?

Yes. We preserve the original formatting in PDFs and scanned documents too. An editable source is helpful when available. Flag unclear text, stamps or handwriting so we can clarify the content before work begins. Any different format you request is agreed in advance.

Do you translate every part of a file?

We agree the scope first. Include tables, appendices, text in images and linked documents in your file list, and identify anything that must stay in the original language.

How do I get a price and timeline?

Describe the project, languages, volume and preferred deadline in the quote form and attach your document. Without a document, use Get in touch or email translations@idiomly.ca. We respond within one business day and confirm pricing and timing after reviewing the material.
