Project Changes & Revisions
Clear version control and consolidated feedback help keep a translation project on track. This page explains what to send when requesting a change; the accepted project agreement governs the scope, fees and delivery arrangements.
Confirming the starting point
Before work begins, identify the approved source file, target languages, audience, deliverable format and deadline. Supply any approved terminology or reference documents. If several people will review the translation, nominate a contact to consolidate their feedback.
Changing the source or scope
Send the revised file with a clear version name and identify the changed passages. Explain whether the update replaces the earlier source or adds new material. Changes to content, language, format or intended use may affect the work required. Confirm any revised scope, price and schedule before additional work proceeds.
Requesting a revision
Reference the project and delivered file, identify the passage concerned, and explain the issue or preferred wording. Distinguish a suspected translation error from a new source-text change, a terminology update or a stylistic preference. Where possible, send one consolidated set of comments rather than conflicting edits in several files.
Agreeing the next step
Revision scope, charges where applicable, review periods and delivery dates should be confirmed for the project. This page does not set a universal number of revision rounds or a fixed turnaround time. If a concern remains unresolved, email translations@idiomly.ca with the project reference and the outcome you are seeking.
